Happy Mother’s Day with Bhakti (Devotional) Yoga! Offer up your practice to a force beyond your self. Some honorable ways to honor the mother in all of us:
Kirtan! I was so happy to celebrate this weekend by attending a candlelight yoga class and kirtan at Samgha Yoga Shala. We chanted to Ganesha, Ram, Sita, and Shiva, led by Mike Cohen and Stephanie Starnes, and shared a vinyasa practice in the Jivamukti style.

  2. Hey I saw Gary Kraftsow! I did one session of the viniyoga workshop at Moksha. Like a lot of things I have been studying right now, viniyoga kinda says that everything you think you know you don’t really know. Another yeay for mystery!

  3. Chakra Balancing Workshop

Last Sunday I went to a Chakra Balancing Workshop led by the lovely ladies Heather and Jamie. We did a little learning first, deciding which chakras we wanted to focus on, then we got to pair off and get hands on with chakras. Then we did a whole Nia class, with a different song for each chakra. So this Sunday I get my first reiki sesson with Heather - I’ll let you know how it goes!

UPDATE: It was awesome. Really hard to put into words the stuff like energy that you can’t really see or hear to touch or taste or feel. Yeay for mystery!

Welcome to Spring Equinox and Passover and Easter! Welcome to this time of renewal and rebirth. I was gifted with attending a wonderful Spring Equinox Candlelight yoga workshop with Carolyn Dale at Moksha. Let’s plant seeds of our highest intentions and support each other’s growth.

  7. At any moment, no matter how lost we feel, we can take refuge in presence and love. We need only pause, breathe, and open to the experience of aliveness within us. In that wakeful openness, we come home to the peace and freedom of our own natural awareness.

  8. Going on vacation - Much gratitude to the folks subbing for me while I’m out of town - A big thank you to Elena & Elizabeth at Fit Girl Studio and Jodi & Callie at Ganesha.

Speaking of subbing, when I get back, I’m long-term subbing during Megan’s maternity leave, so please join me for Active Yoga on Thursdays 8:15-9:30 am at Ganesha. Starts February 28. Hope to see you then!

  9. Ganesha  Thursdays at 7:45 Hoop Fit with Cindy
I love hooping! It is so fun. Last night we warmed up and then learned the basics. Waist hooping (you rock your hips from front to back), halo (hooping over your head - super arm workout), and weaving (crossing the hoop in front and back of the body). I dropped the hoop a bunch of times, but so did every one else. Cindy reminded us to thank ourselves each time we dropped it. She has hoops for you to rent so you just show up and give it a try! SO MUCH FUN. Also you burn a ton of calories and get in touch with your belly muscles, so there’s that too.

  10. May all be filled with loving kindness.
May all be safe from inner and outer dangers.
May all be well in mind and body.
May all be at ease and happy.
