I make art to remember the divine mother. I want to spend time in her presence. So I draw her and paint her and ask her questions. She takes many forms. Sometimes she is a goddess from ancient myths and legends, or a warrior or a queen. I like the stories that remind me of a time before when humans lived on the Earth without actively destroying it. I like to connect with animals, plants, and the natural world. I am an able-bodied, cisgendered, straight white woman in the United States. I take inspiration from many cultures and traditions that are not technically a part of my biological lineage. I feel a yearning to be in the presence of the sacred feminine for healing and re-imagining a healthy future. I am still learning and this is student work.
